It’s still gets chuckles from me, though. College Humor puts their videos up on their site completely separate from YouTube. That way there’s an incentive for people to go to Collegehumor.com to see the newest videos. After a month, CollegeHumor then uploads the videos to YouTube to take advantage of that platform’s huge audience. There are still more YouTube stars in the making, no doubt, but the competition’s higher than it was back in ’06 when channels like Smosh and Shane Dawson got their start.
