Hence the tip is: Define a very short deadline to finish your next post, and see what happens. And don’t cheat 🙂

Great blog post. First, I love the quotes you’ve chosen, and actually felt the need to share half of them immidiatly on twitter while reading. Not only inspiring but also very well placed.

May I ask – We’re you familiar with these quotes or did they pop up while research?
If you found them while researching, can you share a source or too for them? 🙂

The post itself it very usefull, the 8track playlist went straight to my favourites and I will definately try it later on today.

If people want to learn more about free writting, the Book that coined the phrase has recently got its 2nd version (kindle version too), it’s called The Accidental Genius by Mark Levy. It’s a great read with lots of tips, for begninner writers but also for anyone else who wants to engage in a new way with his mind. I really enjoyed reading it.

Keep on the great work, I only recently found the site via Pat’s podcast, and I’m soo impressed by the value and quality that you provide here. Loving it! 🙂

Cheers
Meron

Your efforts are truly appreciated. I just wanted to refer back to point number 1, “Read More”, is there any specific books that you have read in the past that have really opened your eyes about writing or do you just read any book that seems of interest to you?

Thank you for sharing your tips. Regarding #18 Trim the Fat – why do you have to get rid of a part of your article? Could it not be re-used for another follow-on article?

I found so many things I can take from this. I never was the best writer in school but I really love to write and express myself. I find it hard to express myself in person. This was very informative and I appreciate you sharing this.

I read a lot, and I jot down new post ideas every time I’m inspired by something I’ve read.

I use Wunderkit (iPhone app) to jot down post titles, notes and deadlines for anything I want to write. Usually, I start with an outline. Then, throughout the morning or rest of the day, I put on some music on Pandora, get my timer and sit down to write until I’m done.

I let it sit, edit, then publish when it’s ready to go live. The music and the timer keep me focused. The reading, keeps me inspired.

Reading it out loud is a great idea. I have found that if I read the sentence backwards I can find spelling and grammar mistakes rather quickly.
